RAJASTHAN ROYALS

RR vs DD - Dravid, Rahane Destroy the 'Devils
Date: 7th May 2013, 4 pm
Venue: Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur
Toss: Delhi Daredevils, Batting
Result: Rajasthan Royals won by 9 wickets, 13 balls to spare
MoM: Ajinkya Rahane
Having won the toss, Jayawardene elected to bat on what he thought was a decent and consistent wicket, while Dravid was happier chasing. Delhi were off to a flier before James Faulkner bowled Sehwag with a slower one. Gautam finally got a look in but Shane Watson produced a healthy edge that Sanju Samson pocketed with ease, and at 22/2 Delhi were in a lot of trouble.
The inclusion of the x-factor of Shaun Tait didn't go too well as Warner and Jayawardene took turns to punish him for boundaries, despite some being a little lucky. The moment finally arrived for probably IPL's oldest debutant, Pravin Tambe, a leg spinner from Mumbai, who bowled a good first over the start with. Stuart Binny sent back the dangerous Warner courtesy a brilliant catch by Sachin Baby and almost had Ben Rohrer to a very close leg before. After producing another good over, Tambe was woken from his dream when Jayawardene and Rohrer literally swept him for 15 runs.
The momentum started to tilt Delhi's way but Sid Trivedi's lucky breakthrough bought the end of Jayawardene. Jadhav joined Rohrer and the duo somehow managed a boundary an over to keep going at 6.5 runs an over. The final showdown belonged to Delhi as they struck six boundaries and a six to propel to a respectable target of 154; 50 coming from the last four.
There on, there was another royal buffet of stroke play that Dravid and Rahane laid and made the competitive target look meek.
